A Seat at the Table – H&M Misfortune

H&M went viral within 24 hours of poor judgment in my opinion.

  

This photo went viral for an obvious reason.  Exhibit A ↑↑↑ “Coolest Monkey In the Jungle” on a black boy is NOT okay.  

There is a lack of diversity at the head of the table in the Fashion Industry.  Most mainstream companies, especially in Fashion, have very few people of color sitting at the top director + executive table who is in charge of approving major creative decisions.That is what is unfortunate.  

Do I think boycotting H&M is needed? NO

The true solution is having a diverse team of decision makers who have A Seat at the Table!
